Week of April 24th-28th

Monday

1st, 5th and 7th periods:

Classwork: Reading Logs Due. Begin argument essay on Celebrity Humanitarians.

Homework: Complete your outline using the Argument Essay template. Argument essay is due on Wednesday!

2nd and 6th periods:

Classwork: Reading Logs Due. Work on revising sample Rhetorical Analysis paragraphs (p. 10-14 in your packet). Outline your essay.

Homework: Complete your outline for your Rhetorical Analysis essay: Thesis, main points, and evidence are the minimum!

Tuesday

1st, 5th and 7th periods:

Classwork: Write argument essay on Celebrity Humanitarians.

Homework: Finish your argument essay, due at the start of class tomorrow. The NY State Exam is tomorrow and Thursday, don't be late!

2nd and 6th periods:

Classwork: Evaluate your outlines with a partner, making sure you have evidence and analysis for each point. Draft your essay and make a list of what you need to do to improve for your next draft.

Homework: 10 pages of Independent Reading, and write a response on one Writing Strategy from your book. Rough draft of essay due on Thursday.

Wednesday

1st, 5th and 7th periods:

Classwork: NY State Exam Day 1. Argument Essay due.

Homework: 10 pages of Independent Reading, and write a response on one Writing Strategy from your book.

2nd period:

Classwork: NY State Exam Day 1

Homework: 10 pages of Independent Reading, and write a response on one Writing Strategy from your book.

6th period:

Classwork: Multiple choice exam Day 1

Homework: 10 pages of Independent Reading, and write a response on one Writing Strategy from your book.

Thursday

1st, 5th and 7th periods:

Classwork: NY State Exam Day 2

Homework: 10 pages of Independent Reading, and write a response on one Writing Strategy from your book. If you didn't turn in your Argument Essay, make sure to bring it in or email it ASAP!

2nd period:

Classwork: NY State Exam Day 2

Homework: 10 pages of Independent Reading, and write a response on one Writing Strategy from your book. If you haven't shown Ms. Atwill a draft of your Chavez Rhetorical Analysis essay, bring it to her or email it ASAP!

6th period:
